Three days later I picked Max Jensen
up in the airport Manado then we travelled to Dumoga
Bone together in order to meet Mikael Bauer. Mikael
Bauer had been in Dumoga Bone one day early as well
as Ian Merrill and Martin Kennewll. But when they
arrived in Toraut, they got problem with a local ranger,
Mr. Ijong. They couldn't enter to the park so they
had to come back to Kotamobagu.
In the afternoon we arrived in Toraut
and Mikael had been there. He expained us about their
problem. Several minutes later the local ranger arrived
in Toraut I met and spoke with him. After negotiation
we finaly allowed entering to the park. Do not waste
the time we came to the lodge near the park in order
to investigate Sulawesi Mask Owl and Speckled Boobook.
At night we heard the calls but we failed seeing them.
In the mid two days later we searched the Boobook.
We found he was sitting inside a lodge in Toraut.
We took pictures many times. The weather was clear.
When the dark was coming we investigated again two
Sulawesi Mask Owls were flying from the park and fly
around the big three near the lodge, made calls and
fly back again to the park.

The next morning we crossed the river
behind the lodge and entered to the park. We watched
many endemic birds but most of them had been investigated
in Lore Lindu. During our birding in Dumoga Bone we
only foccused to the endemic birds that we didn't
see in Lore Lindu Nat Pk such as six White-necked
Myne landed in a small tree, recorded, Yellow-breasted
Racquet-tail, recorded, Red-breasted Pitta, Sulawesi
Ground-dove, Sulawesi Hornbill, Pied Cuckoo-shrike,
Small Sulawesi Hanging-parrot landed on top of a dead
big tree, hundreds of Grossbeak Straling in their
nest, a young of Philippine Scrubfowl, six Isabelline
Bush-hen, one with some chicks, Bay Coucal, Spotted
Harrier, and many more, include Maleo in the nest
in Tambun, and Matinan Fly catcher in Gunung Ambang.
